When I was a teenager my favourite hobby was to play Games Workshop strategy games. So as you can imagine I was very excited to be chosen from over 200 applicants to be one of three Assistant Games Developers to work at their Design Studio/Head Office in Nottingham.

During the 10 months I worked at the Design Studio I learned many new skills, primarily the use of computers and software applications to create and produce a professional finished product.

  • Playtesting Games Workshop fantasy and science fiction tabletop hobby games
  • Writing and editing a worldwide distributed magazine called the Citadel Journal (readership 7000)
  • Hardware: Apple Macintosh computers
    Software: QuarkXPress 3.3, Word 5.0, Excel 4.0, Adobe Photoshop, MacDraw
  • Job role also included the use of a professional photography studio
